What conditions does Precision Spine treat?
Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) care for patients of all ages with a variety of health conditions. Typically, Chiropractors are known for their treatment of back pain and neck pain as well as headaches. Chiropractors also care for patients with issues related to the musculoskeletal system (muscles, ligaments and joints) which often involves or impacts the nervous system. Since our physical structure affects our overall function, the benefits of chiropractic care extend to our general health and wellbeing.
DCs know just how much one imbalance can cause another imbalance. That's why they actively look at the patient's lifestyle to provide helpful modifications that can impact their spinal or musculoskeletal conditions.
What type of education and training does a Chiropractor have?
Most Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) will have a minimum of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical experience. These stringent educational requirements are important to ensure your care is safe and effective.
Before chiropractic college, most DCs have typically already acquired nearly four years of pre-medical undergraduate study. Once accepted into an accredited chiropractic college, DCs go through four to five academic years of professional study where they study the following:
- Human anatomy
- Clinical diagnosis including laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, exercise, rehabilitation and more.
A significant amount of time is spent in clinical technique training to master the important manipulative procedures.
How is a Chiropractic adjustment performed?
Chiropractic adjustment is a manual procedure performed by a Chiropractor using their hands or an instrument to manipulate the joints in your body.
This adjustment helps restore or enhance joint function and can help resolve joint inflammation and pain. While Chiropractic manipulation may seem painful, this is rarely the case. It is also important to note that each procedure is adapted to meet the specific needs of the patient.
Is Chiropractic Treatment safe and effective?
Yes, Chiropractic is one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Many of our patients feel immediate relief following a chiropractic session at our clinic, but some can experience mild soreness. Discomfort usually fades within 24 hours.
Doctors of Chiropractic are well trained and certified professionals. Like every medical practice, there are risks associated but they are very small, and even smaller, when compared to treatments like surgery or medication.
If you are visiting us with upper-neck pain or headache, please be as specific as you can about your symptoms. This allows us to customise your treatment to ensure it’s safe and effective as possible.
Are there side effects after chiropractic scoliosis treatment?
Mild side effects can be expected after scoliosis treatment. With that said, they are generally benign and have no serious adverse events that required medical attention, hospital stays, or surgical intervention.
A study involving 189 scoliosis patients, surveyed from 9 chiropractic offices over a timeframe of one calendar year, recently found the rate of moderate side effects was one per 533 visits

Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?
In between your joints, there is a small gas bubble. When it is released during an adjustment it makes a popping sound. This is what you hear when you “crack” your knuckles. It does not usually cause discomfort.
How quickly will I see results? Is Chiropractic treatment ongoing?
Chiropractic treatment typically requires patients to visit us a number of times, but we have a clear timeframe that we expects to see results. That's why we typically recommend a package of sessions over a few weeks or months.
Once the sessions are complete, we may also prescribe an at-home treatment plan. These plans require commitment from the patient as they are just as important as the direct care provided by the chiropractor. If a patient does not find time for their at-home treatment, they may experience the same condition that was previously corrected.
Do I need referral from my MD before undergoing Chiropractic Treatment?
Since medical insurance ranges from patient to patient, we always recommend checking with you insurance provider directly.
We offer a no obligation consultation for each and every client before undergoing treatment to make sure we're able to help you with your specific condition. If we do not feel we can help, we will no try and hard-sell you treatment.
Is Chiropractic Treatment good for children?
Yes, Chiropractic care can be used effectively on children. We have lots of younger patients due to age related conditions, such as scoliosis, as well as injuries from daily play and participation in sports.
Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual and can be tailored to be gentle enough for pain, stiffness or discomfort in children.
Can I have Chiropractic care during pregnancy?
Chiropractic care can be undertaken throughout pregnancy and is considered safe and effective.
All Chiropractors are trained to work with women who are pregnant. Some DCs even get additional training in prenatal and postnatal care. Besides the approved Chiropractic techniques, our chiropractor will also provide you with exercises and stretches that are safe to use during pregnancy.
