Headache

Types of headachesThere are many different types of headaches. The two most common forms are Tension Headache and Cervicogenic headache, the latter mimicking migraines.

Vast majority of people suffer from headaches at some point in their life and most of them resort to pain killers for relief. Seeking temporary relief with pain killers is not a good solution if the headaches occur frequently, at least few times a month.

Tension Headache

As the name suggests, this type of headache is caused by tensed muscles. Originating from the neck and shoulder muscles, the tension in this area causes pain in the head which often feels like a tight band around the head. Tension headaches are easily solved when normal muscle balance is restored in the neck by correcting the cervical lordosis or in layman's term, neck curve.

Cervicogenic Headache

This type of headache is very similar to migraine and has often been mistaken for it. Cervicogenic headache is caused by the strain in the neck, which is most likely due to the stress in the facet joints. This stress can be removed by chiropractic spinal manipulation and the sufferer can get permanent relief when the neck curve is restored back to normal.
